Our favorite gender neutral erogenous zones

If you find your partner’s pleasure intimidating and complicated, and never really know where to start, this one’s for you.

Here’s your introduction to the world of erogenous zones.

For context, “Erogenous zones are parts of the body that are more sensitive to pleasurable touch and can be stimulated more readily than other parts of the body to engender arousal,” says Kate Balestrieri, PsyD, CSAT-S, certified sex therapist and founder of Modern Intimacy.

Which essentially means, concentrating on some or all of these will give you the head start (or sometimes even the finish) you need to pleasure your partner.

The good news is that a study from 2016 showed  that almost every single part of the body could be considered an erogenous zone.

But that’s a bit overwhelming so we thought, why not narrow down where you can start?

1. The lips

Considered the most erotic part of your face, the lips can be stimulated with your partner’s fingers or their lips.

Besides continuing your lustful make out sessions (that totally releases mood boosting neurotransmitters), even a simple brush on the lips can get the ball rolling.

2. The ears

Besides many nerve endings, the ears are located close to our face, making them both sensitive and intimate parts of the body.

Even simple breaths near the ear can bring on the goosebumps!

3. The scalp (yep, I’m serious)

Dr. Lee Phillips, a licensed clinical psychotherapist and AASECT certified sex therapist in NYC, says,  “The scalp is very important because it triggers sensations between your ears and down your neck.”

Especially for those of us who love a good scalp massage, this might be a good one to try.

4. The neck

The neck has thin skin with easier access to multiple nerve endings and can also hold the scent of your partner, making it a dual action zone.

Not only will your partner be aroused by the closeness of you to their neck, but inhaling their scent could do wonders for you too.

5. The hands

Fingers also have multiple nerve endings. Stimulation to our fingers feels…really.freaking.good.

Plus, the visual of sucking a finger can really be a turn on.

And let the naughty games begin…

Don’t forget, communication is also part of the lingo to truly figure out which ones are at the top of your personalised list.

I encourage you to experiment!

Definitely treat this as an excuse to get sexy and have the chance to get to know each other better–

Literally, each and every part!
